Resolutions, Hot Springs, and two Hot Mamas

i thought today would be a good day to review my goals for 2012.
doing these re-caps have helped me see what goals i've been reaching and what ones i clearly need to work on. in january i made a top ten list of goals that i wanted to accomplish this year. {read it here}

i think i've been doing pretty well so far..
[except for march. i stunk it up in march.]
there are a couple that i've just been extremely lazy on. a couple that i changed up. and others that are gradually coming along. it's one step at a time, people.

#1 GO TO CHURCH MORE.
i've been doing great on this one. and even though i don't go every sunday i have been going waaay more than i used to. which i have been absolutely lovin.
#2 GET INVOLVED IN THE ARKANSAS FOOD BANK
i decided to change this goal a bit. i want to get involved, and i will but there are better opportunities to donate actual canned food to a couple of other organizations in my area. and i'll probably donate more to those organizations because they want actual items. where as, the food bank just wants money.
so i decided to change this goal to....
DONATE.
this includes clothes and furniture.
i have a good stack of clothes and other household items that i decided to donate to the big brothers, big sisters program, which i definitely know will go to people who really need it.
let's donate together.

#3 RESPECT MY CO-WORKERS.
mmmm i think it depends on the co-worker. i'm sure like many of you, i'm not the only one that thinks the company would be better off without that one particular person..i say this because i know everyone has got one of them.
but it is what it is.
i'm trying and that's what really matters, right?

#4 DO ONE PROJECT AND BLOG ABOUT IT ONCE A WEEK.
as you can tell by the lack of project posts this goal isn't going so well. i am being so damn lazy!
and i am so far behind...this one mighta been a long shot. hey we still got the summertime to catch up!
[yea right]

#5 RECYCLE.
at least i got one goal down.

#6 WEAR HEELS MORE OFTEN.
got this one down, too.

#7 SAVE MORE. SPEND LESS.
doing okay on this one. i went a couple of weeks where i didn't buy anything but the necessities. you wouldn't think i'm doing any better if you read this post or this post buuuttt better than usual.

#8 STAY POSITIVE.
this is definitely one of my hardest ones but i can tell i'm making some progress.

#9 AROUND THE HOUSE TO DO LIST.
just like #4 i just have not been doing this one at all.
i want need to clean out closets, cabinets, and drawers like so freakin bad. i did getta chance to clean out my own closet but that's all i've done.

#10 READ AT LEAST ONE BOOK A MONTH.
i did not read a book in march. but i did read 2 in april, sooo that makes up for it right?
clearly i am a work in progress, people. but i think so far so good.
have you been accomplishing your goals?

well i am hitting the road right after work [ok not right after] to get my little butt up to hot springs for the weekend. i LOVE hot springs. i am sure yall know that by now.
so. as you all know mother's day is on sunday. sooooo to celebrate that's what my wittle family is gonna do. hot springs it is. AND while i'm up there yall know i gotta see muh guurl..
it's been a couple of weeks since we've gotten to see each other so you know we are both too effing stoked! [it's gets kinda hard having my bestestfriend living in a different city]

and i'm also so freakin excited to see the landscaping! last year we really didn't have the time to worry about making the place pretty. what with the boat sinking [true story] the hot tub issues, still trying to get the house in shape, along with all our other work projects, and the wonderful birth of a new family member we've been a little on the busy side, folks!
so. i know my parents are going to be so happy to finally get everything settled [for the most part. joys of being a homeowner x 2] and really be able to enjoy this summer together.
with this little guy..
[aren't baby tummies the best]
so. i hope all of yall have a lovely mother's day. i get to spend it with two very special moms.
[it's my sissy's first mother's day this year]

do you have any special plans for this weekend?
"we got a major backup in the sewer system. i gotta go, i'm a specialist. it's like being a brain surgeon or spider-man."

  2. You seem like a really positive person to me! I have always had the mentality of having garage sales and getting $ back for your things, but I took a haul to the local donation center and it felt SO good. It was totally worth that feeling right there.
